Ive got a 98 honda prelude, can someone tell me the diffrence on smoke?

what is the difference between blue , white , and black smoke coming out of a tail pipe.... and on top of that the same goes for steam.... of course steam comes from water but it it is a dry time and not humid or cold what would cause steam out of a car.......
