Why? and what singer just does it for you and makes you think of that special someone?

I have just sorted thru my pile of discs, sorting them etc. Some I can't hear because they just take me back to another time or relationship with such a pinch I have to take it off. Anyone else feel like me? Am I such a sentimental slop? Even the first song that I ever got busy with... 'Light My Fire' by Jose Feliciano... oh man, I can hear that over and over and never get tired of it, but others just make me feel grey inside with such poingancy...such as Paul Simon's Slip Slidin Away...reminds me of the time when I knew divorce was imminent... or a whole bunch of songs that were popular when I was really having a hard time, Genie In A Bottle..Christina Aguilera, I can't hear them and find myself disliking the artist just the ring of their voice...
