Weird pain on head, migraine like?

I've been experiencing a small pain that occurs every once in a while. It started last Friday and I'm not sure what it is. I have experienced migraines before and it almost feels like the onset of one but it's never been this long. It's on the top, left hand side of my scalp and it goes off and on a few times a day. I'm taking ibuprofen and it doesn't seem to be helping. It almost feels like it's burning, but it's not. Could this be linked to Anurisms? My mother had two within three years and I heard that they are hereditary...
