How do Creationists explain the geological record?

The mistake we have made is believing that Noah's flood was the only world wide flood in Earth's history. The first world wide flood recorded in The Bible is the one that is already in progress when the first day of creation starts off. I believe the God Yahweh used this flood to wipe out the last era of dinosaurs to prepare the Earth for Yahweh's modern era lifeforms He was to now create which ended with us modern humans. I believe Yahweh used world wide floods all throughout Earth's past to end and start eras of evolution. I believe Yahweh's creation story only records the last six or seven eras of modern evolution and is not counting prehistoric eras that existed for millions of years on Earth prior to the creation story. So what ever date we agree on the last era of dinosaurs ending would coincide with the first day of creation in the creation story. We have made the mistake in using Jesus Christ as the reference point to end prehistoric time on Earth and start modern era of time on Earth when we should move this reference point much farther back in the Earth's history which would be the beginning of the first day in Genesis.
